Christine White

Founder and Team Principal
​​
Christine is an experienced Team Manager, Director Sportif (Continental and World Tour) and Sport Scientist with over a decade of coaching and leadership experience across cycling, triathlon, and high-performance sport. Holding a BSc (Hons) in Sport, Fitness and Coaching, she has lead both UCI Women’s and Men's Continental Race Teams, managing race strategy, logistics, and athlete development across UCI European and Asian events.
A UCI-qualified Sport Director and British Cycling Coach Scholar, Christine also works with British Cycling and Welsh Cycling delivering national development pathways activities. Passionate about athlete wellbeing and continuous learning, she is completing the IOC Certificate in Mental Health in Elite Sport. Christine’s leadership and commitment continue to inspire excellence throughout the international cycling community.

Dr Ceri Nicholas

Sport Nutritionist
​​
Ceri holds a Ph.D in Sports Nutrition and Physiology and has over 30 years’ experience lecturing and conducting research in Sports Nutrition and Sports Science at the Universities of Loughborough, Essex and Chester. For over three decades, she has also provided nutritional support to elite and club level athletes in a range of team and individual sports including cycling and triathlon.

In addition to her academic qualifications and extensive experience in lecturing, research and applied work, Ceri has also competed in triathlon at an elite level, representing Great Britain at a number of Age Group European and World Championships from 2014 until 2019. Her highest achievement in the sport was in 2019 when she won a silver medal at the European middle distance championships in Romania. She remains a competitive club road and cross-country runner, representing Wales at Master’s level in 2017-2019 and 2025.
As an athlete passionate about all sports, Ceri has an attention to detail in her own performance preparation, execution and recovery that is transposed to her academic and applied work.

Kristian Araneda (Mentor)

Chiropractor | Soigneur (UCI)
​​
Kristian Araneda is a Norwegian chiropractor based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, with extensive experience supporting elite athletes across multiple sports. Kristian combines clinical expertise with a deep understanding of athlete's health, injury prevention, and acute care during competition (including first aid). Alongside his clinic work, he served as part of the medical staff for Hull City in the Championship for the 2024/25 season, providing chiropractic care and musculoskeletal support to first-team players. Kristian’s career reflects a strong commitment to sports chiropractic at the highest levels of competition.
Kristian has worked with several female and male UCI Continental Cycling Teams, providing support at major events, including UCI Continental and World Tour events. His experience also includes serving as Lead Medical for the GB U16 Men’s Ice Hockey team, polyclinic at Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and providing care for Rugby League Jamaica during their historic Rugby League World Cup debut in 2021. A passionate cyclist himself, Kristian rides regularly every week and brings that same enthusiasm for movement and performance into his professional work.

Lauren Cook

Physiotherapist MCSP
​​
Lauren is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist who graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Salford. While studying, Lauren also completed a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage further enhancing her clinical skills.
Her experience spans both the NHS and private sector, including work with professional football teams and hydrotherapy, giving her a well-rounded and dynamic scope of practice. More recently she worked in private practice in Glasgow before moving back to Chester.
Lauren takes pride in delivering a holistic approach to physiotherapy, addressing both the physical and psychological aspects of each condition. She enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues but has a particular niche in sports-related injuries.
Her strong passion for sports injury rehabilitation has been shaped by her own athletic background-having competed nationally in swimming medalling in the 200m butterfly, and regionally in athletics and netball.
Lauren enjoys staying active through lifting weights and running and has a love for travel and exploring new places.

Mark White (Mentor)

Sports Scientist | Mechanic | Bike Fitter
​
Mark is a highly experienced Sports Scientist with a First-Class BSc in Sport, Fitness & Coaching and over a decade of expertise in professional cycling support. Since 2012, he has specialized as a Bike Fitter, combining scientific precision with real-world experience to optimise athlete performance and comfort.
​
With 15 years as a shop-trained bike mechanic, Mark has provided technical excellence at every level of the sport, including as a mechanic and soigneur for a UCI Continental Team. His background as a former Road, Time Trial, and Track cyclist, and former British Record holder, gives him a deep understanding of athlete needs from both a scientific and competitive perspective.

Dedicated, detail-oriented, and passionate about performance, Mark continues to bring his unique blend of technical skill and athletic insight to the team.

Elaine Ward
​
Rider/Staff Welfare
​
Elaine is a lifelong cyclist who has achieved success at the highest levels, representing Great Britain as an international rider and earning multiple British Time Trial Championship titles. Alongside her elite racing background, she brings a wealth of grassroots experience, having served as a club secretary, national timekeeper, and event organiser, all of which provide her with exceptional real-world insight for her role as Welfare Officer.
​
Recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Women in Cycling, Elaine’s extensive expertise and deep understanding of the sport make her an invaluable asset to The Hera Project.
